Bruce Barron – Executive Director, CEO
Bruce is the initial founder of Providence Housing and was the original project proponent for Casey Gardens – Providence Housing's exemplar NRAS project. He is responsible for business development and progressing the expansion of Providence Housing's project portfolio. He has been involved in property development and management since 1987 and has extensive experience in planning, project feasibility, funding and development.
Over the last 20 plus years, Bruce has overseen projects of over $1 billion for various property syndicates and institutional investors. His experience extends to include residential and industrial subdivision projects, retirement villages and aged care facilities, as well as retail, office and industrial, architectural design, construction, town planning, marketing and sales. Bruce specializes in site identification and obtaining re-zoning and town planning approvals for large complex residential developments.
Philip Soumilas – Non-Executive Director (Chairman)
Philip has been active in property for over 30 years. He founded Finch Freeman Real Estate in 1988 and became Managing Director of Knight Frank Victoria when that company acquired his business in 2001. In recent years he has been responsible for Commercial and Industrial developments at MAB Corporation.
He possesses a deep understanding of the needs of both the property owner and occupier and the importance of maintaining and presenting property assets in a cost efficient manner. He is currently the Victorian President and Member of Divisional Council of the Property Council of Australia.
Mick Bolto – Executive Director
Mick Bolto had an international legal career spanning over 25 years. He was a partner of Mallesons Stephen Jaques for 25 years, during which time he was based in Perth as well as London and Indonesia.
Whilst with Mallesons, Mick was a leader in their property and development practise, and acted for major property developers including the Pivot Group lead by Peter Laurance, John Roberts of Multiplex and Warren Anderson.
In his commercial capacity, Mick founded the management consultancy firm Mainsheet Corporate and has specialised in providing strategy and business development advice in the investment and private equity sectors. He has held senior board and executive positions in a number of publicly listed companies and arts organisations.
Michael Quinert – Non-executive Director
Michael Quinert graduated with degrees in economics and law from Monash University in 1984 and 1985 respectively and has over 20 years' experience as a commercial lawyer, including three years with ASX Limited and over 15 years as a partner in a Melbourne law firm. He has extensive experience in assisting and advising public companies on capital raising and market compliance issues and has regularly advised publicly listed mining companies.
Michael sits as a Managing Partner of Melbourne law firm Quinert Rodda & Associates, and is Chairman of ASX listed West Wits Mining Limited, Executive Director of Peregrine Corporate Ltd and a Director of the Victorian Livestock Exchange Ltd.
Joel Cann – Non-executive Director
Joel has a career in property, spanning over 20 years including almost 15 years of experience in the field of investment management. He has held senior managerial and investment positions domestically and internationally with organisations including ING Real Estate, Pramerica Real Estate Investors and JPMorgan and Aberdeen Property Investors.
Prior to returning to Australia recently, Joel held the position of interim COO within a residential investment business based in London. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance, as well as several regulatory and professional body associations.
